  • Who is eligible to participate in the free surf lessons?
    The Free surf lesson are open to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced surfer, everyone is welcome to join and enjoy the experience.
  • Do I need to bring my own surfing equipment?
    No, you do not need to bring your own surf equipment. We will provide all the necessary surfing gear, including surfboards and wetsuits.
  • Are there any requirements or restrictions for participation?
    To participate in the free surf lessons, participants must be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water. Minors under the age of 18 will need parental or guardian consent to participate.
  • Will there be instructors available to teach and guide participants during the surf lessons?
    YES! Our instructors are experienced and will be present throughout the event to provide guidance, instructions, and ensure the safety of all participants.
  • What other activities will be available during the Juneteenth event?
    In addition to the free surf lessons, our Juneteenth event will feature a range of activities to celebrate the occasion. Yoga sessions, Interactive games, music, educational booths, and opportunities for community engagement and dialogue.
  • What should I bring?
    We recommend bringing the following items to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience during the free surf lessons on Juneteenth: - Swimwear: Please come dressed in appropriate swimwear that allows you to move freely in the water and that will go under a wetsuit. - Towel: It's a good idea to bring a towel to dry off after the surf lesson. You can also use it to sit on the beach or to keep warm if needed. - Hat and Sunglasses: Consider bringing a hat and sunglasses to shield your face and eyes from the sun. - Change of Clothes: It's a good idea to bring a change of clothes for after the surf lesson. This way, you can change into dry clothes and feel comfortable while enjoying the rest of the event! - Beach Blanket to sit on when you're chilling on the grass or beach. - Anything else you would bring for a beach day. it is an all day event! Sunscreen will be provided.
  • Is there a cost associated with the Juneteenth event or the surf lessons?
    No, both the Juneteenth event and the surf lessons are completely free of charge. Our nonprofit organization is committed to providing these activities as a gift to the community and promoting access to outdoor experiences for everyone.
  • How can I support Paddle for Peace Juneteenth event?
    We appreciate your interest in supporting our cause! There are several ways you can contribute. You can spread the word about our event and invite friends and family to participate. Additionally, you can consider making a donation to help us cover the costs of equipment, entertainment, and other event expenses. We deeply value any support you can provide to help us continue offering these free surf lessons for Juneteenth.
